My name is Krystal Peacock, and I am currently completing my final hours of Professional Practicum Placement (SPX340) of a Bachelor of Sports and Exercise here at USC Sunshine Coast. I have been studying since 2017 and once I complete my placement hours, I am due to have my Graduation in April 2020.
I have been competing in Football (Soccer) for 16 years. Back then, I remember watching my older brother’s sporting debut at our local football club and feeling at 6 years old this is the sport for me. I begged my parents at the end of the match to sign me up. With a lot of convincing my mum finally gave into my dad and myself and signed me up to begin the week following. I have now been playing for the past 16 years and I would not change a thing!
Sport has been a part of my life ever since I could remember. I have always had an interest helping others live a healthier, more active lifestyle. Studying a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science has given me the relevant and necessary skills to not only improve my sporting performance but also share my knowledge with my team mates, work colleges, family and friends to ensure they are the healthiest version of themselves.
So, what’s next for me? In May 2020, I pack my life up in search of an adventure in Canada. This is where I will look for work to share my knowledge of the importance of sport and exercise to the general public and athletic population. If I come back to Australia, I look to further my study in Occupational Therapy.
